Homemade Waldorf Salad

Dressing prepared from plain yogurt, mayonnaise, and fresh lemon juice is tossed with diced apple, diced celery, and chopped walnuts. Chill before serving.

Ingredients -
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Plain Yogurt
2 teaspoons Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Red Delicious Apples
2 large Celery Stalks
1/2 cup Walnuts, chopped
 
Preparation:

1. Combine the yogurt, mayonnaise and lemon juice to taste in a small bowl.

2. Dice the apple and celery and add to the dressing bowl.

3. Fold in the chopped walnuts and stir to combine.

4. Chill for 2 hours then serve.

 



Salad Making Tip -
Coring Apples

melon baller is an excellent tool for coring apples. Once the apple is halved or quartered, use the large side of the melon baller to carve out the core and leave a nice circular cut.

Keep Apple from Browning

Tossing apples in citrus juice will keep them from browning after they’ve been sliced or diced. Simply pat the apples pieces when ready to use.
